Our 30th-anniversary comedy line-up is here and it promises a lot of giggles.

Since first coming to attention in the ‘90s, our first headliner Mark Steel has become one of the most potent forces in British comedies. While addressing the big issues of the day is often the main theme of his set, Mark relates those topics in a way that’s warm, whole-hearted and laugh-out-loud hilarious.

Joining him is crowd-pleaser Suzi Ruffell who energetically tackles personal experiences ranging from anxieties to sexual politics, with a real flair for making such talking points both engaging and utterly uplifting. Those talents have been showcased on everything from Live at the Apollo to Mock The Week, as well as by co-hosting to Like Minded Friends podcast with Tom Allen.

Elsewhere, this year’s line-up will also feature Ahir Shah’s blend of philosophical inquiry, political vigour and sweet gags, “triumphantly profane” American comedian Sara Barron, LGBTQ New Comedian of the Year 2019 Charlie George, and Sindhu Vee, who explores her cynical and satirical guide to modern coupledom.

Phil Ellis, who’s renowned for his observational material and physical comedy and Jarred Christmas who Time Out described as “One of the funniest men to pick up a microphone” will be on compere duties throughout the weekend.

As usual, we will also be hosting four very special preview shows ahead of the Edinburgh Festival including the innovative and eccentric Elf Lyons, effortlessly amusing stand-up and low-key comedy songs from Gareth Richards, Olga Koch delivering infectiously entertaining snapshots of her childhood in Russia and Tom Ward ruminating on gender, love, loss, living alone, animals, and climate change.
