Having begun her stand up career at the age of just 14, Josie Long’s consistently unique comic voice and admirably prolific output has been invigorating the UK indie comedy scene for two decades. Josie has performed her solo shows all over the world, making multiple appearances at festivals including Montreal Just for Laughs, New Zealand, Adelaide Fringe, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where she was nominated for the prestigious Barry Award for her show Trying is Good (2008). Josie is also a celebrated podcaster, writer, actor, radio presenter and maker of short films, including 2018’s Glasgwegian mumblecore adventure, Super November. Shortly before giving birth last year, Josie performed a show with her partner Jonny Donahoe (of Jonny and the Baptists), entitled Josie Long and Jonny Donahoe Are Having a Baby (With You), in which they explored the subject of parenthood; the show has now given rise to their candid weekly podcast of the same name.
“By turns raucously silly and profoundly moving, Long is a top-class performer at the top of her game.” Edinburgh Evening News
