Jess Richards in conversation with Sara Veal
Jess Richards spins magical worlds and stories, drawing on real life, folklore and fairytales to create worlds that are strange yet familiar, utterly beguiling and original. A visual artist and performer, she came to fiction writing a little later in life, studying Creative Writing at Sussex University in 2008-10 and publishing her first novel, Snake Ropes, in 2012, which was shortlisted for several awards. She has since published two novels, Cooking with Bones and City of Circles, and has taught with the Arvon Foundation and Moniack Mhor, Scotland’s Creative Writing Centre. Sara Veal of Huhbub talks to Jess about crafting spellbinding fiction.
