A view from the festival team…
17 July, 2016
An outstanding line-up topped off by blue skies made Larmer Tree Festival 2016 an overwhelming success, with buckets of fun and a great atmosphere. We’ve loved hearing feedback and stories about your favourite bits, especially those little, individual moments you’ll remember forever. With that in mind, we’d like to share some of the festival team’s stand-out memories from this year…
Rob Challice, Director – “As one of the Larmer Tree Festival Team it was immensely satisfying to know that we had successfully delivered a very special year. Personal highlights for me were John Cooper Clarke in the ARC, Calexico on the Main Lawn on Saturday night, cycling off-road with 16 other attendees on the Sunday morning and seeing people enjoy Lostwood after dark.”
Julia Safe, Director – “My favourite moment from this year’s Larmer Tree Festival was a very special Songs From The Shed session – I was privileged to share Frazey Ford’s performance of Gospel Song with just one other person who’s a very good friend. Frazey was joined by her backing singer and together their voices were beyond incredible. Watching it again still brings me to tears.”
James Shepard, Founder and Director – “My personal highlight was seeing our new venue The Chase full to capacity on Saturday night with Quantic playing an absolutely brilliant set.”
Lucy Babb, Festival Manager – “I utterly loved this year’s festival – the beautifully created Lostwood, the balloon parades, seeing Mr Bloom with my family, and the fully booked Beyond the Gardens activities. But my absolute favourite moment strangely was the end of the day after the festival… sitting together with the Production Office team in a sun-dappled spot, sharing our favourite festival moments. Knowing that everyone enjoyed it as much as I had was the icing on the cake.”
Looking back on the festival, James told us “This was without a shadow of a doubt the best Larmer Tree Festival in the 26 years since its birth.” We can only agree – hasn’t it been fantastic? We’d love to hear what you think, so fill in our feedback poll and get in touch on social media to tell us your stories!
