Green Larmer Tree

Nestled in beautiful Gardens in the heart of the Cranborne Chase, we’re proud to be part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a nationally protected landscape which is the sixth largest in the country and one of the most rural. We are committed to taking care of this beautiful area which looks after us so well.

We’ve won Greener Festival Awards recognising the work we’ve put in to minimise our impact on the environment, a big thanks to you for helping us achieve this, but we need to keep going.

What we’re doing with your help…

Recycling

We love working with Wiltshire Event Services who help us recycle as much as possible. Any material that can’t be recycled is baled for waste energy production so nothing goes to landfill. We take pride in achieving really high levels of recycling, so make sure you pop all your rubbish in one of our blue wheelie bins and let Wiltshire Event Services do the rest. We also encourage all of our workshop and carnival leaders to use as many recycled materials as possible, so you too can create something wonderful from waste. And after the festival all unclaimed lost property is donated to charity, so somebody else can enjoy it.

Food

We love local and we welcome food partners who’re working the area, such as Dorset Farmer’s Market. All our catering outlets use biodegradable trays and wooden cutlery rather than plastic.

Travel

If you can use public transport please hop on a bus or make use of Salisbury Railway Station. If you have spare space in your car or wish to leave your car at home, sign up to www.liftshare.com, www.gocarshare.com, www.freewheelers.com and check the Info Tent at the festival for lift requests. We use local suppliers and contractors where possible to reduce our carbon footprint.

Environment

The plants, peacocks and macaws are looked after carefully throughout the festival, and we always return the Gardens and fields to their original condition after our stay. You can help us by conserving water (no paddling pools and water bombs/balloons allowed), not using chinese lanterns, supporting our ‘no glass’ policy, and by enjoying our award-winning loos, rather than polluting the great outdoors.
