MARK STEEL

Mark Steel

Prolific and award-winning comedian, broadcaster, author and columnist, Mark Steel has been making audiences laugh, and think, for nearly 40 years. While known for his left-wing beliefs, his work is beloved of people not only from across the nation, but also the political spectrum, particularly for long-running Radio 4 shows including The Mark Steel Lectures, The Mark Steel Solution and the latest Mark Steel’s in Town. Mark has authored a number of acclaimed books including Reasons to Be Cheerful and What’s Going On, and was awarded Columnist of the Year in 2017 for his weekly column in The Independent. Returning to the Edinburgh Fringe after a 10-year absence, Mark set the festival alight in 2015 with his much-admired show Who Do I Think I Am?, taking audiences on a hilarious and surprising journey of personal discovery. We are delighted to welcome him back to Larmer Tree this summer as our comedy headliner.
